Tough test for the leader
22-05-2019
It is always a difficult game to face the one after a lost final, and Real Madrid had a hard time getting on board yesterday against Valencia. The visitors took advantage of the situation for a good start and a substantial difference in the scoreboard at the end of the first quarter (14-25).
But Real's second unit and a good offense helped the locals reverse the situation and a 29-13 run on that period gave the Whites the partial win at halftime (43-38).
During the second half Real was in command of the game and the scoreboard, but Valencia showed why it is a dangerous team for the playoffs and thanks to Van Rossom, Thomas, Dubljevic and San Emeterio the visitors managed to cut Madrid's lead down to 3 points only (71-68), with 5 minutes to go.
But again Laso's men choral play and an efficient Causeur gave Real a substantial lead and the final victory over a very combative team.
One more game to go in the regular season for the Whites who visit Delteco San Sebastián this upcoming Sunday.
