Real Madrid wins the Copa del Rey against FC Barcelona
Real Madrid launched the Copa del Rey on Thursday in the inaugural game of the competition, against UCAM Murcia, on which in the end resulted the most complicated game for the Whites.

Real was better from the beginning in the game as only Todorovic supported his team during the first half. The Whites went to the locker room on halftime with a 44-34 score. Madrid was better resuming the game but Ennis and Coupain's appearance helped Murcia shorten the difference at the scoreboard.

UCAM made a great effort in the last period (71-70, min 36), but Real Madrid managed to stay calm and keep the lead for the final win, 84-79.

In the semi final, Valencia was only able to hold up Real's basketball avalanche during the first half, but a 32-16 run in the third period opened a gap that was final for the taronja's hopes (80-55, min 30). Chus Mateo's men got the second win on the competition (95-76), advancing to the final.

Lanching the great finale, Real was again off to a good start of the game (17-11) but two threes from Laprovittola and a basket from Hernangomez tied the game at the end of the first 10 minutes (19-19). The second quarter was exciting as there were many change of leads. Hezonja was the best man for Real Madrid (12 points), and the run in the quarter was 24-26 with FC Barcelona leading at halftime 43-45.

The third period was again thrilling as Chus Mateo's squad was taking the lead again facing the last 10 minutes of the final. But early in the last quarter Real's three consecutive three pointers opened a gap that FC Barcelona would never come back from.

Real Madrid cruised until the end of the game, for a 96-85 win, and its 29th Copa del Rey championship.
