FC Barcelona was the Copa del Rey champion on a game that went through very different stages and had an unexpected ending. The Catalan team was up to a good start scoring fluently and getting Laso's men in trouble. Nevertheless, the Whites got in control of the game during the second quarter evening the score by half time (35-35).
In the third quarter Real Madrid showed all its cards with a great offensive game thanks to a great ball movementand, and scoring mostly from the distance got a 14 point advantage at the end of the period (60-46).
But FC Barcelona did not give up and made a big come back thanks as well to a great three pointer series. Svetislav Pesic's men got to the last seconds up by 2 but once more an incredible long lay up from Llull was beating the buzzer, sending the game to the overtime.
During the extra time the match was really even but in the last 30 seconds a couple of controversial actions got the game to Barcelona's side. The Whites, unhappy with the result, abandonned the court after applauding the crowd that was outstanding during the whole tournament.
