Tight win at el Palacio

Tight win at el Palacio
Real was hosting again Baskonia for a remacth after the defeat in the Spanish championship on January the 19th in front of the Vitorian team and both teams privileged defense over offense on a slow first quarter (14-19 m. 10).

Real improved once Deck and Thompkins were on the court but still a more accurate Baskonia from the distance would take them to halftime one point ahead (37-38 m. 20).

Laso's men were more focused in the beginning of the second half and pulled their first serious margin (49-44 m. 25) but Ivanovic's men were able to get back on track by the end of the period. Again Real started strong the last quarter getting a new maximum advantage after a Causeur's layup (55-49 m. 32) but Shields and Christon were the culprits of a 2-11 run that was giving Baskonia a 3 point lead (57-60 m. 34).

Thompkins consistency, with 5 consecutive points, tied the game again (62-62 m. 36). Both teams were very cautious from then on and only Trey and Campazzo scored until the end of the game for Real.

Shields scored with a layup for a 69-69 with 4.2 seconds to go but then Stauskas fouled Campazzo who scored one of his free throws with practically no time left for the Vitorians for scoring.

Very tight but needed win for the Whites, 70-69, on a 3 game week.
