Laso's men had a bad start in Belgrade and Red Star took advantage of it: despite's Madrid 0-11 run at the end, the locals led 26-21 at the end of the first period.
The second quarter was again for Red Star and only single plays both on defense and offense from Real's players would bring Real to halftime only 6 points behind (42-36).
Real built then from defense, during the third quarter: Tavares got bigger in the paint, Abalde was great on Loyd, and Llull and Randolph were accurate in offense. Laso's men were finnally in control of the game: 53-59 min 30.
Madrid's defense in the last period was excellent allowing only 14 points from the local squad, and only 2 in the last 4 minutes. Thompkins was the best scorer for Real and the leading scorer in the last 10 minutes for the visitors as well (2 threes). Campazzo and Llull again sealed the victory (67-73) from the free throw line.
