The Euroleague slips from Real Madrid's hands at the end
The Final had an early star, Edy Tavares, who scored 12 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in the first 10 minutes. Real led for as many as 7 points in the period (15-8, min 9) but Larkin made his appearance with 6 consecutive points for a tight 15-14 at the end of the first 10 minutes.

Real's first three of the game on their 9th attempt was giving the Whites a 29-22 edge, but Larkin and Micic scored 7 points as Randolph again responded with another three for a 5 point margin by halftime for Madrid, 34-29.

By mid third quarter Laso's men were leading by 9 points (40-31) but again some of Efes' most important men came to the rescue: Pleiss first and Micic after him scored for the Turkish squad, only contested by Yabusele. The first 30 minutes finished with a small advantage for Real, 42-40.

The last 10 minutes began with a three from Micic and a lay up off a steal from Singleton that got Efes leading 42-45. Five free throws from Real tied the game (47-47) and a three from Llull turned again the tables 50-49 until a decisive Pleiss made a new appearance with 4 consecutive points. Deck and Micic exchanged threes as Efes kept the 3 point edge 53-56, but Real scored from the free throw line (one from Causeur, one from Tavares).

On next Efes' offensive play Pleiss tipped-in a Micic's missed lay up and Real entered the last minute trailing by 3 points. A determined Sergio Llull scored from the dribble leaving 44 seconds to play and Real Madrid trailing by one point. But Real's fouls to give allowed Efes to use most of the remaining time and there were no more points from any of the teams.

The final result was 57-58 for Anadolu Efes.
