Tavares shines in Kaunas

Real Madrid's performance in the first quarter was outstanding: 32 points, and an 8 point margin at the end of the first period (24-32). But the locals were up to a good second quarter with an 18-5 run (42-37 min 17). Real, thanks to Sergio Llull, was able to get to halftime only 6 points behind (54-48).
Real was still lacking concentration coming off the locker room: Zalgiris took off at the scoreboard (66-55 min 25) and only Tavares and Abalde were able to lift the Whites by the end of the period. Zalgiris was leading by 6 points at the end of the third quarter (73-67 min 30).
In the last period Thompkins and Campazzo allowed for Real getting back in control of the game, pulling some advantages (75-78 min 33) but the Lithuanian team stroke back leading again. It was the time for Tavares to emerge on both ends: rebounds, baskets, blocks and initmidation, leading a 5-12 run for the visitors.
