Defensive game in Istambul in which Real Madrid struggle to score during the first 10 minutes, while Micic was very effective on the locals. Poor offense for Real in this first quarter as Efes lead 20-13, min 10.
Real was a bit better during the second period, thanks mainly to Laprovittola and Rudy Fernandez, each of them with 2 threes, but Efes managed to lead by halftime still by 6 points, 37-31.
Choral work from the Whites during the third quarter, with a much better defense and many players adding in offense: Abalde, Llull, Thompkins and Laprovittola. The Whites were taking lead of the game after a three form Llull (45-47, min 28) and managed to stay ahead (51-52, min 30) with two free throws from Laprovittola, for the last act.
Despite Efes early run in the 4th, Real improved on defense again and got a great run lifted by Rudy and Causeur (59-63, min 37). Larkin and Dunston would even the game (63-63) but Carrol (2 threes in the last minutes) and Causeur (15 points in the game) stepped up for Laso's squad securing the game for the visitors, 65-73.
