Real Madrid clinches playoff berth and is close to collecting home court advantage, after a new win at the Palacio.
Real had a strong finish in the 1st quarter for a 20-14 lead after 10 minutes.
The second quarter was an exchange of baskets with many players on both sides scoring. The run was 16-16 and the game reached halftime still with a 6 point advantage for the locals, 36-30.
But Villeurbanne was more in tune coming off the locker room and managed to tie the game (44-44, min 27). It was Rudy Fernandez's moment then: the guard scored a step-back 3 pointer to close the 3rd quarter (51-47, min 30) and opened the last period with back to back threes, for Real grabbing an 8 point advantage.
Real Madrid kept on going for a 15-2 run that set a max 61-49 lead that proved to be final for the French squad's hopes, as the Whites cruised until the end of the game for a 70-58 final win.
