Real and Garuba stun Anadolu Efes

Real and Garuba stun Anadolu Efes
Another lively game at el Palacio, as Real was off to a magnificent start (17-0) thanks to a zone defense (1-2-2) and Garuba and Carroll, who did a great job on both ends of the court. Efes would recover little by little, mainly thanks to Beaubois, and the visitors bounced back, very accurate from the three point line, leading by 11 points by halftime (36-47).

Garuba and Carroll set the pace coming off the locker room and Real was back on track (51-55, min 24), but Beaubois and Micic got Efes' game handle for a new visitors' run that was getting them a 15 point lead (51-66, min 27). Laso's squad made a new erffort specially scoring from the 6.75 line and Anadolu's lead at the end of the period shrinked to 9 points.

But Real's game and energy in the last 10 minutes stun Ataman's men, despite's Larkin early run. Garuba both on offense and defense, Carroll scoring and Llull managing the pace of the game (8 assists). The Whites got an overwhelming 17-2 run that Rudy Fernández would extend to 19-2, with 2 free throws (78-74, min 40, 12 seconds left).

Larkin would score 2 free throws next but Real Madrid responded with 4 more (2 Llull + 2 Garuba), for the final 82-76 for Real. The fifth game of the series will take place in Istambul next Tuesday.
