Real advances to semi finals
01-06-2023
Real Madrid proved to be a better team than Dreamland Gran Canaria in the quarter final series and got its quarter finals pass on Wednesday with the second win in the fixture.
The visitors lead at the end of the first quarter (18-21) thanks to a consistent team game and to the control in both paints. The second quarter showed a similar script but the locals took the run (19-18) as both teams went to the locker room withg a Real 2 point margin, 37-39.
Real's launch of third quarter was brilliant as the Whites got a 9 point gap (37-46) thanks to Williams-Goss and Musa. The hosts' reaction allowed them to tie the game again (52-52) but again a great Musa (player of the game with 22 points and 24 PIR), supported by Llull, led Madrid to a new run and a double digit advantage at the scoreboard (56-67, min 30).
The madridistas started the last quarter with the will to break the game and reached a 16 point difference (61-77), but Dreamland Gran Canaria fought back with a great run and was able to level the game again (79-79).
But Lakovic's men were not able to find ways on Real's defense and the Whites closed the game from the free throw line, thanks to Yabusele and Williams-Goss, 81-89.
Semi finals launch this upcoming Tuesday at the Palacio, against Joventut Badalona.
