Penalized in the Final Round
After winning the Super Cup and the King's Cup the Whites were frontrunners for both the Euroleague and the Spanish championship, so Real Madrid was one of the big contenders in Valencia, facing this Final Round for winning the title. Nevertheless Real never had this 12 team stage's measure.

Laso's men launched their competition with a good win in front of Gran Canaria (91-73) with Carroll and Llull as Real's best men. But in their second appearance Real was defeated by San Pablo Burgos, this Final Stage's underdog, on a tight game (87-83).

The third fixture was intended to be decisive and Real topped Valencia Basket (95-90) with a brilliant Campazzo (29 points and 11 assists for a PIR 42). It was an important win as Valencia was supposed to be the top contender in the group.

But Real had a bad game in front of Morabanc Andorra in the 4th match day and were unexpectedly defeated (91-75). Clevin Hannah had an outstanding performance and the Whites were always outpaced. Real no longer relied on itself for making it to the semi finals.

Valencia Basket's victory in the last matchday was leaving Real outside the semi finals even in spite of Madrid's win over Casademont Zaragoza with a great Tavares.

Real Madrid Baloncesto's players will have now time to rest and get ready for next season.
