The semi final game versus Australia was thrilling: great basketball, intensity, and an epic finale.
Spain was off to a better start with the first small advantages but Australia quickly took command of the game. Mills was again very diffcult to handle and Kay became a nightmare in the paint (17 points 11 rebounds at the end). The aussies were excellent in the offensive rebound with 20 second chances at the end of the game.
But Spain got back to the good habits: team game and good defense. Plus an amazing Marc Gasol who scored 33 points at the end, 29 of those after half time.
Ricky, Rudy and Sergio Llull were colossal on defense, and specially Llull's great work on Mills was decisive as the point guard was worn-out at the end of the contest and had a hard time appearing during the OTs.
Spain had its chances for a bigger gap during the first minutes of the first over time but Australia was able to even the score and Dellavedova had in fact a last possession. But during the second OT, Scariolo's men were much better and 2 threes by Llull after great ball movement plus team work again gave a big margin to the Spanish National Team.
