Garuba and Llull show the way

Garuba and Llull show the way
The game was all or nothing for both squads and Real was sharper from the beginning: a great Garuba and a good defense got the locals their first leads (17-10, min 8). Valencia balanced the game thanks to its bench players while Llull closed the first quarter with a buzzer three (22-18).

The second quarter was even tighter with a +1 run for Valencia. Both teams with very similar field goals, Real stayed ahead thanks mostly to the offensive rebounds and to a Garuba's three, again by the buzzer (42-39, min 20).

Coming off the locker room Real was more consistent, mostly thanks to an improved Tavares: 7 points and a great defense from the center, plus a good team work. Valencia was however able to get to the last 10 minutes alive thanks to three point plays.

It was Llull's time on Laso's squad: two threes from the playmaker and another one from Taylor seemed to deal a final run to Valencia but the visitors responded with another run: 0-8 mostly thanks to Kalinic playing in the low post (68-67, min 35).

The game entered its last minute with only one point margin for Real (75-74), when Garuba got another 2+1 after an offensive rebound (78-74, min 39). Valencia was not able to score in its next offense and the Whites were able to decide the game and seal the ticket to the ACB Finals.
