Scariolo's men traveled to Anaheim, CA, for facing their most demanding test in preparation of the China World Championship against Team USA.
The North American squad pulled an 11 point margin by the end of the first quarter that they were able to stick to during the rest of the game. An 11/19 series from the distance was also too much for the Spanish team even though its zone defense got the locals in trouble for a while.
Ricky Rubio and Marc Gasol were the best players for the visitors followed by Sergio Llull who scored 11 points and dished 6 assists in 22 minutes.
At the end of the game Popovich's men pulled a hard-working win, 90-81.
