Real Madrid prevailed in La Fonteta on Tuesday this week, to stay perfect in Euroleague beating a very consistent valencian squad.
The game had two very different halves: the locals led by halftime (49-43) with a brilliant and accurate Davies who scored 20 of his 22 points (9 out of 10 field goals) in the first 20 minutes.
But in the second half Real's defense, pushed by a great Tavares (7 rebounds, 4 blocks), suffocated the hosts' offense as the Whites were able to take the last 2 runs: 13-20 in the third quarter and 11-13 on the last one. The final score was 73-76 for Real Madrid with Deck as the top scorer and Campazzo as the best PIR for the Whites.
Chus Mateo's men were up to the second game of the week at the Palacio on Thursday hosting AS Monaco, a team that always competes against the Whites, but Real practically wrapped up the game in the first half (53-39).
Madrid's extra pass game (27 team assists) was so dynamic that the visitors had a hard time keeping up on defense coming off the locker room as Tavares and Poirier were extraordinary on the boards.
The third quarter finished with a 30 point difference (80-50) and the locals just got their foot of the gas pedal in the last 10 minutes. New win for Real Madrid, only unbeaten team in the Euroleague, 91-73.
