Real launched the game with a different starting 5 in Vitoria, including Laprovittola and Mickey. The locals took advantage from Tavares not starting the game through Shengelia, but Randolph and the guard stroke back with threes and Real had already a 7 point margin with only 4 minutes played (7-14). The locals were able to get back on track and the first period ended 21-23 for Real.
Usman Garuba had an amazing beginning in the second period: 9 consecutive points for the 17 year old, that were setting the fundamentals for the visitors wide margin by halftime (34-47 min 20).
But Baskonia was excellent coming off the locker room with a 17-4 run (including 8 threes, and Janning scoring 19 points in the period). And the locals got in control of the game with only 10 minutes to go (70-65, min 30).
